The Lord's handmaidens

I realized something profound, something that will sit with me for a very long time. We all need the help of God.

We need the help of God in everything that we do. I believe that God has made humans to be independent yet limited. As humans we are indeed limited in what we can achieve, and that is where the supernatural God comes in. That is why He is God.

I was privileged to watch my sister give birth and bring to life her beautiful daughter. I was in the labor room, and in that moment, I understood just how limited we are as humans. While my sister was in between contractions and pushing, I was praying. I could see how hard she was trying, yet it was not yielding as it should. So I stepped into the restroom and asked the Holy Spirit to come in and fill her with the strength she needed. He really does fill us up in our infirmities! That supernatural power filled her, and she screamed, bringing forth her child! I prayed for that, and God answered. She got that extra strength she needed to push through.

Without the help of God, man will struggle and worry. They will take longer to achieve what they want, or arrive at an outcome different from God’s intention. And I began to think, in all that we do, you and I, we need the help of a supernatural being to bring to life all that we desire.

Are you going through a difficult season? Are you navigating an addiction? Seeking direction? In need of more guidance? Does anything seem impossible? Or even a simple task? We all need the help of God. He is ever willing and able to help you.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

How do we get God’s help? Be sincere. Communicate with God as someone you deeply care about. Come to Him, commune with Him and ask for His help. God desires a sincere relationship with us, and He always knows when we are sincere.

We all need God’s help.
